Porcelain Inlays

An inlay is a restoration that is usually placed on the chewing surfaces of back teeth, where a filling is no longer appropriate due to lack of enamel.

An inlay fits within the confines of the tooth that’s left and an onlay covers the whole of the tooth’s chewing surface. Inlays and onlays can be made of either plastic resin or porcelain.

The procedure involves having the decay or old restoration removed and preparing the tooth cavity. An impression of the mouth is then taken for a specialist laboratory to use to fabricate the inlay. Two visits to the practice are required for the treatment to be completed. Here at Killay Dental Health Centre we offer a range of different inlays and onlays. Our main aim is to give you both strength and aesthetics at an affordable cost.
